Shawn asked, “why do Black women wear weave?”

well, i wear weave because:

1. it’s easier to deal with!! — i have enough to do between school, work and my social life; if i can get a weave & have one less thing to worry about (aka, my hair), that sounds like a Win !!
2. it’s a lot more fun!! — you can try different styles, textures, colors, lengths, and not have to ruin your actual hair.
3. when I have a weave in, my hair grows. & who doesn’t like longer/healthier hair?
4. & finally, it’s easier!!

My hair was so damaged from bleaching the fuck out of it last year; it stopped growing at about shoulder length, because it kept breaking. Putting my hair up in a protective state and wearing a weave has definitely helped. Now I can have long mermaid hair with out having to wait years for mine to grow out.
